Signs of You by Emily France. Soho Teen, $18.99; ISBN 978-1-61695-657-8. Four teenagers bond over grief and the possibility of finding something greater than themselves in this debut novel.

Coyote Moon by Maria Gianferrari, illus. by Bagram Ibatoulline. Roaring Brook, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-62672-041-1. Quietly poetic text and show-stopping artwork create a tense account of a coyote’s nocturnal search for food. The book earned a starred review from PW.

Flying by Carrie Jones. Tor Teen, $17.99; ISBN 978-0-7653-3657-6. With nods to numerous science fiction and fantasy works (including Dr. Who, Heroes, and World of Warcraft), this tongue-in-cheek series opener from Jones (the Need series) follows cheerleader Mana, who is confronted with the existence of aliens.
